About the Role

The NIST Program Coordination Office is seeking a Senior Program Analyst to lead critical and emerging technology (CET) program efforts. This role advises senior leadership, aligns NIST programs with national priorities, develops CET strategies, and represents NIST on AI, cybersecurity, digital ledger technologies, and other emerging technology matters. This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.

What You'll Do

  • The Senior Program Analyst serves as a senior subject matter expert (SME) within the NIST Program Coordination Office (PCO), providing leadership, analysis, and strategic expertise on critical and emerging technology (CET) programs and initiatives.
  • Major duties include: Providing mission-focused advice and expertise to the PCO Director, Director for Policy, Programs, and Planning, and Chief of Staff on critical and emerging technology (CET) programmatic issues.
  • Serving as a senior SME on CET matters, including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, digital ledger technologies, and other emerging technology areas involving NIST, DOC, and national priorities.
  • Leading assessments of NIST program content and activities to ensure alignment with national CET priorities.
  • Developing strategies for establishing CET programs and integrating CET priorities and initiatives across NIST programs, as appropriate.
  • Developing approaches to promote consistent implementation of NIST programs in alignment with DOC and U.S.
  • Government (USG) initiatives and interagency strategies.
  • Representing NIST on CET matters with interagency program offices, committees, working groups, and nongovernmental organizations, as appropriate.
  • Preparing analyses, briefings, and recommendations for the NIST Director, Associate Directors, and other senior leaders on CET issues, developments, and initiatives with implications for NIST.
