About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Medicare Drug Rebate and Negotiations Group (MDRNG). As a Pharmacist, GS-0660-15, you will serve as an authoritative technical expert and advisor to senior leadership and interpret, develop, monitor, or evaluate laws, regulations, and policies under the Medicare Part B and Part D programs.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as subject-matter expert and chief point of contact to external entities on the development, implementation, and oversight of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program.
- →Leads national studies, reviews, evaluations, and/or projects that directly impact upon the drug benefit or payment across the country.
- →Develops policies related to the negotiation of prices for selected drugs under Medicare Part B and Part D to include identifying and vetting policy options and preparing policy memoranda, rulemaking and technical guidance.
- →Provides professional pharmacy consultation, negotiation, and advice on a wide range of CM program issues or policies to other CMS and Government components, Congressional staff, professional organizations, and other health policy groups.
- →Develops and coordinates the work of program task forces and work groups on intra-consortium and crossconsortium issues and problems, and present recommendations to senior staff.
Requirements
- ✓Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, you must have the following educational requirements: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- ✓TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above.

- ✓License/Registration Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, you must possess the license/registration listed below.
- ✓Proof of license/registration MUST be submitted at time of application.
- ✓Failure to submit proof of license/registration at the time of application WILL result in an ineligible rating.
- ✓Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- ✓Proof of License/Registration is required at the time of application to verify possession of the license/registration listed above.
- ✓Failure to submit proof of license/registration at the time of application WILL result in an ineligible rating.
