This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, The incumbent will be responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of competency-based curriculum in areas of expertise, as assigned; curriculum refers to prepared lectures, seminars, problem-based learning, case studies, instruction, and advisory services through in-person and virtual (synchronous or asynchronous) delivery.
What You'll Do
- →As a SENIOR LECTURER at the AD-1701-5 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plan, design, coordinate, and report on the execution of advising engagements with foreign partner nation officials.
- →Provide advice to University leadership, to fellow faculty, and throughout the SC enterprise in areas of expertise.
- →Develops alternative courses of study, assesses proposed curriculum changes, and provides recommendations to DSCU leadership.
- →Serves as an Assistant Professors of Practice developing and teaching advanced, tailored instruction to prepare students to analyze, design, and assess programs that develop warfighting and institutional capabilities in partner nations.
- →Prepares and delivers lectures, seminars, advising, and instruction in assigned areas, either functional, geographic, or both.
- →Assesses needs and gaps and makes recommendations on instructional solutions.
- →Provides academic advice to DSCU students to facilitate an understanding of and a capacity for scholarship, independent judgment, academic rigor, and intellectual honesty.
- →Develops course curriculum and advising materials; assess course materials or advising plans and programs created by other faculty and faculty teams; plan, coordinate, and engage with partner countries in mobile courses and/or advising projects.
- →Sustains and develops academic expertise through participation within and contributions to the community of practice and discipline.
- →Participate in academic or professional research to create knowledge or solutions related to security cooperation and ICB topics and to the more specialized topics of the practice area/discipline.
