About the Role
The Nurse Senior Leadership Chief Nurse for Behavioral Health, executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines and influence the organizational healthcare mission.
What You'll Do
- →The Nurse Senior Leadership Chief Nurse for Behavioral Health is responsible for administrative functions of their assigned nursing units/programs.
- →Functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant utilizing management theory in collaboration with Patient Care Service and other services.
- →Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all levels of medical center personnel and relates effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local and network levels.
- →Assumes continuing and substantial responsibility for the coordination and evaluation of integrated programs that cross service and/or discipline lines and influence organizational mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
- →Provides executive leadership and direct supervision to the Nurse Managers for ABHICU, Nurse Manager Mental Health Clinics and PIC and Nurse Manager for Mental Health Residential Treatment Program (MHRRTP).
- →Assesses, plans, and evaluates the processes and daily operations of the Behavioral Health units.
- →Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm and extended hours if needed.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
