What You'll Do

  • The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
  • If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for establishing, disseminating or managing governmental information.
  • The incumbent conducts analysis and recommends policy changes to improve the effectiveness of exchanging governmental information with local, state and Federal governmental agency data partners.
  • Participates in long-range planning, design and establishment of intergovernmental programs, coordinating analytical activities with other offices in formulating programs, policy and procedures affecting the Service's overall policies and practices.
  • Develops program objectives, systems, standards and evaluation criteria for data exchange programs.
  • Plans the basic approach and development of specific projects and programs, while maintaining a balance between priorities of multiple internal organizations and the IRS as a whole.
  • The incumbent monitors objectives and program goals to assure timeliness, accuracy and consistency.
  • Uses a data driven approach to design program procedures and policy to improve effectiveness and productivity of data exchanges.
  • The incumbent affects policy for establishing new or strengthening existing information exchanges.
  • Provides guidance related to developing Memoranda of Understanding or similar agreement instruments that result in the sharing of critical government information in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • The incumbent develops guidelines on special analytical studies, policy development, operational projects, work plans and schedules and evaluates overall accomplishment of goals.
  • Coordinates data exchanges by working with internal and external stakeholders to effectively coordinate government data exchanges.
  • The incumbent is responsible for coordinating across the IRS to ensure appropriate problem resolution and technical issue determinations.
