This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships (DRR), Resolution Strategy Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The incumbent serves as principal subject matter and technical expert in the areas of franchise analysis and marketing, specifically: least cost modeling and analysis, least cost resolutions, and valuations. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill similar vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.
What You'll Do
- →Leads, directs, and provides final technical oversight for the most complex least cost test analyses, audits, reviews, and model validations, including matters involving large, complex, and systemically significant institutions or institutions with unusual business lines, funding, structures, or legal entities.
- →Reviews and approves approaches, assumptions, and conclusions related to asset pool structuring, asset valuation, and transaction analysis prepared by staff, contractors, and interdisciplinary teams.
- →Leads or serves as the senior technical authority for franchise analysis aspects of DRR and Division of Complex Institution Supervision and Resolution (CISR) resolution planning, resolution strategy review, and capabilities testing activities where least cost statute expertise is required.
- →Represents the Division in high-level internal and external meetings, briefings, and presentations, involving complex least cost, valuation, and resolution strategy issues, including interactions with other regulators, international counterparts, industry participants, and congressional staff.
- →Leads the preparation and technical integration of the most significant failing institution board cases, including development of recommendations and decision materials for presentation to the FDIC Board of Directors (Board), Board deputies, and other senior officials.
- →Depending on assignment, provides technical direction related to least cost modeling and analysis, least cost resolutions, and/or valuations.
- →Establishes new DRR/FDIC processes, reviews work products, and approves or clears analyses, recommendations, and briefing materials prepared by lower-graded staff, peers, or contractors for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency with divisional standards.
- →Assists functional closing areas with financial institution closing support roles.
