This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Financial Management Group (FMG). As a Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will provide technical expertise, advice, and consultation on complex and highly sensitive programmatic, operations, and priority policy initiatives as they relate to Medicaid financial management and oversight.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as technical advisor to FMG leadership, reviewing key programs and projects.
- →Interprets and applies laws, regulations, and policies governing Medicaid and CHIP financial operations, non-federal financing and state interactions.
- →Uses advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, such as environmental scans and data analytics, to assess policy trends, evaluate operations, and predict program impact.
- →Translates complex analysis into strategic policy recommendations for senior leadership, supporting policy development, oversight, and procedures.
- →Provides leadership, sets program direction, and creates action plans.
- →Advises management on major policies affecting CMS administration.
- →Develops national guidance and leads team to offer technical support for state policy changes.
