About the Position: As the New York District (NAN) Security Specialist, works under the supervision of the Chief of Staff (CoS) to administer, execute and support security programs and activities at NAN Headquarters (HQ).
What You'll Do
- →Facilitating the district's office access control program and the organization's DoD Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real -Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
- →Initiating or renewing background investigations of district personnel utilizing automated investigation programs.
- →Capturing and transmitting recorded fingerprints to the FBI and/or Office of Personnel Management (OPM) utilizing approved Live Scan Software and Hardware equipment.
- →Coordinating with external agencies such as Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Defense Investigative Service (DIS), Defense Industrial Security Service (DISS)) relative to the conduct of background investigations.
- →Processing System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) in support of personnel access to various Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army (DA) or U.S.
- →Corps of Engineers (USACE) software programs.
- →Implementing policies and procedures to ensure the proper handling of classified information.
- →Verifying personnel granted access to classified information have the requisite level of security clearance and approval.
- →Maintaining the districts security SharePoint site as necessary to ensure all relevant applicable security information is made available to the workforce in a timely manner.
- →Conducting training for organization personnel regarding various security issues; disseminates training aids and program awareness documents.
- →Providing support to other members of the district security team in non-primary functional areas such Antiterrorism, Law Enforcement Reporting, Physical Security, and other security areas.
