About the Role

OIG is organized into six operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, and Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

What You'll Do

  • Current OIG Employees will remain at their current duty location.
  • As a Security Specialist (Operations), you will: Oversee the implementation and operation of credentialing systems and associated access control technologies supporting OIG operations.
  • Coordinate with external providers and interagency partners for the secure production, delivery, and accountability of OIG credentials.
  • Design and implement agency-wide, risk-informed internal control frameworks to prevent identity fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse of credentials, including development of monitoring strategies, control testing methodologies, and performance metrics aligned with federal internal control standards.
  • Determine technical requirements and resolves system-level issues related to identity data accuracy, credential issuance logic, and access control integration across multiple platforms.
  • Resolve complex technical issues involving identity data integrity, credentialing processes, system interoperability, and access control integration across multiple systems and platforms.
