About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
What You'll Do
- →Independently perform, with little or no supervision, installation access control for pedestrians and vehicles.
- →Validate entry requests through the use of ePACS and grants access to persons and vehicles with appropriate authorizations.
- →Initial point of contact for the installation’s visitors which may include foreign nationals, government agents, elective officials, media and VIPs.
- →Record visitor information and purpose of visit.
- →Grant access to persons, denies entry or arranges for escorts, as appropriate.
- →Perform Visitor Control Center (VCC) duties.
- →Screen all employees, visitors, consultants, foreign nationals, government agents, elective officials, media representatives, VIPs and contractor personnel daily.
- →Serve as a member of the installation’s overall security response capability during actual or simulated incidents.
- →Regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic to prevent accidents and to ease congestion and parking problems.
- →Assist in providing initial response and traffic control for vehicular accidents, which may include providing first aid, requesting appropriate emergency responses, securing the scene and identifying witnesses.
