This position resides within the Police & Security Service at the Alaska VA Healthcare Center in Anchorage Alaska. Performing administrative and communication support work related to law enforcement and physical security programs.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinate radio and telephonic communications during normal and emergency operations.
- →Monitors alarms and SSTV.
- →Conduct alarm audits and equipment inventories, complete records and other logs.
- →Perform or monitor standardized aspects of established security program operations such as establishing and maintaining security records of operating an established PACS and identification system.
- →Proficiency in interpersonal communications, as well as the ability to sustain emotional and mental stability while under pressure of handling procedures related to emergency situations.
- →Protect and maintain printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974, the VA Records Control Schedule and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy and VHA Police.
- →Ensure work of the service conforms to appropriate directives and reflects favorably upon the service.
- →Must be trained and certified on the operation and use of APSIN and NCIC law enforcement systems.
- →Complete initial VA Link and Entry Controller training facilitated by 673 SFS Training Section.
- →Complete 20 days of On-The-Job training (OJT) with a certified entry controller.
- →Work Schedule: Two vacancies with different schedules.
- →Monday-Friday 8 hours shift OR 12 hours shift, Panama schedule rotating days and nights.
