About the Position: Serves as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for a military controlled port. Responsible for full range of safety program management principles to include marine terminal operations; the transport of hazardous materials; industrial safety and occupational health responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- →Monitor the installation Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program execution in supported organizations to determine compliance with policies and regulations and for areas where process improvements can be made.
- →Provide technical leadership and guidance to journeyman safety professionals, assisting them in resolving the especially complex and difficult problems and cases where guides are very general or lacking.
- →Review and analyze accident and incident reports, standing operating procedures (SOPs), organizational and program documents, and all other information and regulations available in order to detect problem areas and to determine compliance policy.
- →Plan, coordinate, evaluate and provide technical advice for the command-wide safety program in the framework of applicable laws.
- →Interpret regulations, standards, procedures, methods, and techniques applicable to a broad-range of safety and occupational health duties that include industrial hazards and the transport of hazardous materials.
