About the Position: Participates in developing and administering the district's safety program covering government and contract operations. Theexecution of the program covers both government and contractor operations in regard to accidents involving personal injury,property and equipment damage, radiation control, fire, health and sanitation, both actual and potential.
What You'll Do
- →Inspecting or surveying workplaces, construction sites, and industrial operations for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies.
- →Analyze statistical accident data and evaluating operations to determine the existence, severity, and probability of hazards.
- →Applying safety and occupational health regulations and principles to resolve complex safety problems with project personnel and contractors.
- →Identifying accident trends using Safety Information Management Systems (SIMS) and prepares reports, charts, and graphs to recommend corrective actions.
- →Managing safety program elements, including developing and presenting safety training sessions for employees to reduce accidents and occupational illnesses.
- →Recommending corrective actions and establishing controls for hazardous conditions, such as the safe use of radioactive materials.
