This position is located in the Office of Policy, Legislation, and Internation Affairs (OPLIA), Office of Policy (OP), Regulations Policy and Management Staff (RPMS). The primary responsibility of the staff is to serve as the agency focal point for developing and maintaining communications, policies, and programs with regard to regulations development.
What You'll Do
- →Reviews and analyzes Federal Register documents, policy memoranda and documents to assure that all reasonable alternatives have been identified and explored.
- →Determines whether recommended course of action is in conformance with most current Agency policy.
- →Performs assignments involving the most difficult, unusual, novel, and/or precedent-setting policy issues.
- →Conducts evaluative studies to analyze the substantive effect of regulation and policy issues that are fragmented among the various organizational entities of the Agency.
- →Identifies changes in regulation policy or the development of new policy and Federal Register documents that require coordination at the Agency level.
- →Monitors the progress of the development and implementation of these policies and regulations.
- →Represents the Regulations Policy and Management Staff at Agency meetings.
- →Reviews Federal Register documents and accompanying action memoranda and decision documents prepared within the assigned component Centers to assure that the alternatives presented have been clearly identified and explained.
- →Compares and contrasts regulation policies and strategies in force throughout the Agency to determine effectiveness and consistency.
- →Oversees the collection and analysis of Agency communications with the Department and the public for their appropriateness involving major regulation policy issues.
