About the Role
Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care - Waco Patient Aligned Care Team(PACT) position is with the Central Texas VA Health Care System and a duty station location: Doris Miler Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 4800 Memorial Drive, Waco, TX 76711-1329.
What You'll Do
- →The Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) delivers direct, gender-specific care and coordinates services for Veterans within the Primary Care Department.
- →This role is responsible and accountable for independent nursing practice and for making appropriate decisions about the delegation of tasks to ensure safe, high-quality care.
- →Provides essential, evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients while building technical and clinical competencies.
- →Applies the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) under close supervision.
- →Delivers Veteran-centered care with attention to patient experience, safety, and satisfaction.
- →Communicates and collaborates effectively with the interprofessional team, demonstrating growth toward independent team leadership.
- →Utilizes educational resources and self-evaluation to support ongoing professional development.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
