About the Role
The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) RN is a registered nurse who will utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice in order to demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to the management of complex behavioral health patients in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program.
What You'll Do
- →Functions within their scope of practice to provide expert care and management of the delivery of care that assures continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including problem resolution, de-escalation and psycho-education.
- →Function as an expert in clinical practice including the areas of medical and psychiatric emergencies medication compliance, assessment, social skills and patient safety to patients receiving residential rehabilitation treatment.
- →Provides guidance to assist in the development and support of staff using proficiencies and standards of nursing practice.
- →Responsible and accountable for maintaining training required and may be assigned additional duties that reflect the educational, experiential, and competency requirements outlined in the four dimensions noted in the Clinical Nurse Path.
- →Executes delegated responsibilities, demonstrating leadership and creativity, for the purpose of providing quality patient care and exceptional customer service.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
