The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will function as an Oncology Inpatient Staff Nurse on Unit 4A, providing patient-centered oncology care through the integration of biopsychosocial principles, sound clinical judgment, and technical competence.

- →The Registered Nurse-Oncology Inpatient Staff Nurse duties include but are not limited: Competently and safely administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications.
- →Efficiently recognizes hypersensitivity and other chemotherapy-related reactions.
- →Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- →Maintains consistent dedication to performance improvement and evidence-based nursing practice.
- →Prioritizes timeliness, attendance, professionalism, and collegiality.
- →Performs safe medication administration and skilled care related to dressing changes, central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and similar interventions.
- →Provides Veteran-centered care to patients and families.
- →Delivers patient-specific, purposeful education.
- →Adheres strictly to infection prevention and control measures.
- →Actively participates in a Just Culture environment and supports high-reliability and safety initiatives.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with agency policy.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
