The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology. The Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology will function within Perioperative Nursing Service.

What You'll Do

  • The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse duties include but are not limited to: Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
  • Responsible for direct patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care and identifying outcomes for patient undergoing invasive procedures in IR.
  • Responsible for coordinating patient care delivery to ensure the delivery of quality care per the established standards of practice, policy, and procedure.
  • Provides patient education to assist the patient and/or family in understanding all phases of the invasive procedure process.
  • Maintains knowledge of supplies and equipment used for various cases in the invasive procedures area.
  • Performs the duties of recording, circulating, and monitoring patients in all phases of the invasive procedure.
  • Performs hemodynamic and moderate sedation monitoring, medication administration, and provides pre-and post-care to patients undergoing invasive procedures.
  • Provides peers with formal or informal constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Supports colleagues and other nurses through knowledge sharing to provide safe, quality nursing care.
  • Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of health care professionals.
  • Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations.
  • Responsible for the documented IR outcomes at the program or service level.
  • Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility.
  • Possesses vast experience and knowledge with the situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform, skillfully integrating theoretical concepts, strong critical thinking skills, and exhibits an expert technically skilled practice.

Requirements

  • Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
  • Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
