About the Role
The Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications. Demonstrates the following core informatics functions to include content management, application support, health information technology system optimization, and change management.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process.
- →Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →Executes position responsibilities that demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches, and systematically evaluates current practice.
- →Exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications.
- →Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network.
- →Works closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide.
- →Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level.
- →Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility, Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN), or Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), illustrating performance and leadership that benefit the facility.
- →Assists in directing the provision of education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
