About the Role
This Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) within Gastrointestinal Specialty, located at the Kansas City VA Medical Center in Kansas City, MO delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy procedures including both inpatients and outpatients. Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and post-procedural care, and documents responses to interventions, findings, and reports any changes.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides conscious sedation.
- →Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment.
- →Engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination.
- →Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
