The Accreditation Coordinator holds substantial and continuous responsibility for continuous readiness, regulatory and standards compliance, and system-level performance supporting VASTLHCS's mission to deliver safe, high-quality, Veteran-centered care. This role functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor, models High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices, and integrates evidence-based quality and patient safety methods across service lines and disciplines.
What You'll Do
- →Demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to promote continuous readiness, regulatory and standards compliance, and monitoring across service lines and disciplines in support of the organization's healthcare mission.
- →The Accreditation Coordinator functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor who possesses a wide range of experience and leadership ability.
- →This position will balance and promote transparency of survey process activities while maintaining confidentiality in relation to staff performance.
- →Core elements of performance include , but are not limited to adherence and compliance with Department of Veteran Affairs Directives, knowledge and participation in facility-level quality improvement processes and initiatives, and customer service programs.
- →The Accreditation Coordinator remains current with accrediting bodies' requirements, policies, and procedures for the health care system, and acts in a consultative role.
- →Develops programs and processes to ensure that quality provisions are planned, developed, and implemented with the aim to identify, prevent, and correct unsatisfactory conditions and elements related to regulatory compliance of programs and services.
- →They participate in several facility councils, committees, and workgroups.
- →Executes the position responsibilities that demonstrate effective leadership. detailed planning, professional bi-directional communication, creative and innovative approaches to the improvement of safety/healthcare program development and possess an ability to organize priorities.
- →The Accreditation Coordinator works in concert with leaders and others to sustain a culture of safety, modeling High Reliability Organizations (HRO) practices.
- →The Accreditation Coordinator performs duties directly contributing to high quality and safe care within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
- →Duties require the ability to apply specialized principles and practices to ensure a systems approach to healthcare delivery.
- →The Accreditation Coordinator directly supports facility leadership in areas of planning, coordination, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the accreditation readiness program within the facility.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
