This position will be assigned to the JBSA Randolph Rambler Fitness Center. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
What You'll Do
- →The purpose of this position is to support the day to day operation of the fitness center.
- →Serves as the desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment and adhere to fitness center policy.
- →Greets visitors, answers telephones, and makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities.
- →Provides information on scheduled events and classes.
- →Provides assistance and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment.
- →Circulates among patrons to ensure customer satisfaction and safe and proper use of equipment.
- →Issues sports equipment and completes required documentation for transaction.
- →Inspects returned equipment noting damages.
- →Inspects all equipment and facilities according to established standards and local fire and safety procedures.
- →Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor.
- →Performs opening and closing procedures of facilities IAW written guidelines.
- →Performs minor repairs, adjustments and regular cleaning on equipment and facility.
- →Maintains and prepares fitness center facilities, grounds and equipment for daily use, programs and special functions.
- →Launders towels and upholds towel exchange program.
Requirements
- ✓Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
- ✓This position does not allow for education substitution.
- ✓FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
- ✓You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
- ✓It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
