About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Psychology Program Manager supports oversight of a multidisciplinary team-including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and others-within a Level 1C organization.
- →The role includes leadership of clinic operations in areas such as PTSD, Specialty Mental Health, Residential Treatment, Compensated Work Therapy, MHICM, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, PCMHI, Substance Use Disorders, Acute Inpatient care, and General Mental Health.
- →The Gulf Coast VA Health Care System (GCVHCS) Behavioral Health Service Line provides comprehensive mental health services across four CBOCs and a main campus spanning MS, AL, and FL.
- →Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversees multidisciplinary programs such as PTSD, Specialty Mental Health, Homeless/HUD-VASH, Residential Treatment, Vocational Rehabilitation, Compensated Work Therapy, MHICM, Psychosocial Rehabilitation Recovery Center, PCMHI, Substance Use Disorders, Acute Inpatient, and General Mental Health.
- →Exercises independent judgment in managing operations, resources, and personnel; supervises a large clinical workforce and monitors performance to meet Veteran needs.
- →Manages day-to-day clinical, administrative, and training activities; prepares special reports, Congressional responses, briefing papers, issue briefs, and decision papers for Medical Center leadership.
- →Develops and implements policies, procedures, performance standards, position descriptions, and functional statements; conducts performance appraisals and oversees staffing actions, time/leave, overtime, and budget control.
- →Ensures compliance with local and system-wide directives, accreditation standards, and productivity requirements.
- →Coordinates program activities with internal services, community agencies, affiliates, and officials at all levels; delegates authority to subordinate leaders and ensures accountability for program operations.
- →Identifies and implements organizational changes to meet evolving Behavioral Health treatment demands.
- →Monitors and reports Mental Health Performance Measures, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- →Represents Behavioral Health Service at meetings, conferences, and in media-related events; serves as liaison with local, state, and national officials, and affiliated academic institutions.
- →Serves on Healthcare System, district, regional, and national committees and task groups as assigned.
- →Adheres to fire, safety, and security requirements.
