About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Psychologist for whom this functional statement applies is assigned to the Behavioral Health (BH) Service Line at HSTMVH and works with clinicians in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) at the CBOCS.
  • The Psychologist Program Manager reports to the Senior Psychologist Program Manager to whom their position is assigned and who has delegated authority from the Chief, Behavioral Health Service.
  • The incumbent serves as a Psychology Program Manager who coordinates program operations, collaborates to lead program development, and completes performance appraisals for clinical FTEs at the affiliated CBOCS among other duties.
  • Duties may include: Directly supervises a diverse team (14 FTE) of psychologists (GS 13) and social workers (GS 11-12).
  • These clinicians provide BHIP services at the CBOCs.
  • Serves as a supervisor, including the completion of mid- and end-of-year performance reviews for all BH staff associated with BHIP at the CBOCs as assigned.
  • Assists in development of performance plans and individualized productivity targets.
  • Monitors staff productivity and ensures compliance across all programs and personnel with national and local performance measures, standards and mandates.
  • Conducts regular documentation and coding reviews of staff to ensure quality services.
  • Approves leave for all staff associated with programs under his/her responsibility to ensure continuity of care and uninterrupted provision of services.
  • Coordinates the recruitment and selection of staff associated with programs under his/her/their supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains a robust integration of mental health services in primary care, and, the use of appropriate empirically-supported approaches; participates in program development and communication among program providers to support comprehensive, individualized treatment, and bolster ongoing continuity of care and population coverage.
  • Assists the BH Service Chief, Operations Manager or other BH leadership in the execution of ongoing program evaluations and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of clinical programing as requested.
  • Provides evidence-based behavioral health interventions as appropriate/available, and individual and/or group targeted, short-term behavioral interventions.

  • Incumbents must possess [and maintain] a valid, unrestricted State driver's license, have a safe driving record, and demonstrate that they are medically qualified to operate the appropriate motor vehicle safely.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
