About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. - →Psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders.
- →Among the modalities provided are individual, family, and group psychotherapies and other interventions such as behavioral health and community interventions.
- →Psychologists consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
- →Staff psychologists may be involved in program evaluation, teaching, training, and research activities.
- →Clinical Responsibilities: The Psychological PC-MHI psychologist provides functional assessment, triage, brief intervention, education and consultative services regarding a wide range of mental health and behavioral medicine concerns, on referral from Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) providers.
- →Provides a full range of psychological services to patients in Primary Care, and other medical settings.
- →Performs psychological evaluations of Primary Care patients who request or are otherwise identified by the primary care provider as needing assessment for possible behavioral health interventions or mental health treatment.
- →Be available mental health walk-in services, conducting initial triage and brief assessment of mental health needs, provide immediate crisis intervention and support as needed.
- →Provides brief, time-limited behavioral health/psychotherapeutic interventions to patients in the Primary Care.
- →The psychologists design and implement effective treatment strategies based on clinical need, and incorporates new clinical procedures as indicated.
- →Consults with Primary Care on a wide variety of mental health and behavioral health-related patient care issues.
- →Facilitates patient referrals to specialty Mental Health Services programs when clinically indicated.

Requirements

- ✓Citizen to apply for this job.
