This position is located at the San Francisco VA Medical Center in the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS). The position is overseen by the Chief of the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service, SFVAHCS. The incumbent is responsible for managing and direct supervision of assigned PSAS staff and all phases of prosthetic operations. This person functions as the Chief of the service in the Chief's absence and serves as a liaison between Prosthetic Service and other departments.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties may include but are not limited to: Establishing long and short term program goals.
- →Responding to a variety of correspondence.
- →Chairs local facility committees, workgroups and teams.
- →Provides technical guidance regarding prosthetic devices and services.
- →Adjusts workload.
- →Develops performance measures.
- →Coordinates specialty programs which include Clothing Allowance, Home Oxygen, Telehealth, Automobile Adaptive Equipment (AAE) and Home Improvement on Structural Alterations (HISA) Implements new local and national guidelines.
- →Responsible for monitoring quality assurance programs for the PSAS.
- →Analyzes and reviews various monitors and databases.
- →Develops and analyzes cost containment initiatives.
- →Administers the veteran appeal process regarding PSAS issues.
- →Develops functional statements, performance standards and competencies.
- →Develops business and action plans.
- →Manages resources (i.e., space, equipment, supplies and personnel) Participates at national initiatives, intra-agency workgroups and/or committees.
Requirements
