The Program Analyst works within the Health Administration Services (HAS) of the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. The position supports the daily operations of the Beneficiary Travel Section and serves as a point of contact within the section.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties and responsibilities include: Uses analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to assess the Beneficiary Travel Section and studies, analyzes, evaluates, and makes recommendations to management on process improvement.
- →Makes eligibility determinations, processes claims, provides administrative coordination in accordance with Beneficiary Travel Regulations, and serves as the subject matter expert within the Beneficiary Section.
- →Ensures that fund control point balances are reconciled and works with appropriate staff within the Business Office and Fiscal Service to meet fund control point needs.
- →Plans and coordinates support functions such as communications, procurement of supplies and equipment, printing, reproduction, property management, records management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, and transportation.
- →Researches and identifies training needs for the medical center staff, specific to the Beneficiary Travel Section and other transportation services.
- →Performs audits of employee work for accuracy in accordance with appropriate guidelines and regulations, as well as timeliness.
- →Perform other related duties as assigned.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- →Work schedule subject to change based on agency need.
- →Telework (ad hoc): This position may be authorized for telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
