The Program Analyst is located in the Surgical Service line of the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS). In this position, you will analyze operational data and develop specialized information products, such as healthcare information solutions, decision support matrices, and business case analyses, to measure performance and guide surgical care operations and sub-specialties.
What You'll Do
- →Reviews Clinic Utilization Statistical Summary data and provides guidance on methodologies for improving statistics.
- →Reviews national reports and identifies actions necessary to improve quality of facility scores.
- →Identifies data requirements for effective program evaluations; monitors program trends through analyses of statistical data; designs statistically valid data analyses techniques to evaluate programs.
- →Drafts, reviews, edits, and/or provides input to written materials, including program guidance, policies, procedures, informational/decision memoranda, premeeting background briefings, talking points for senior-level managers' meetings (from informal to national), speeches, testimony, and decision proposals/justifications.
- →Designs, develops, and disseminates training materials, local standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals, develops and utilizes monitoring tools, and provides for the implementation of surgery initiatives through education, training, and independent analysis of data.
- →Research problems that impact the quality and efficiency of surgery operations.
- →Identifies and implements remedial actions to be taken.
- →Ensures program requirements are met, and planned actions have been initiated and evaluated for effectiveness.
- →Recommend and implement amendments to surgical services operations where necessary.
- →The applications control critical applications, which are used primarily by all care lines/services, i.e., book ability reports, Office of Productivity and Efficiency (OPES) reports, VSSC encounters, appointments, and consult cubes, eligibility and enrollment reports, development and dissemination of Pyramid and Power-Bi reports, and a multitude of other software modules.
- →Perform work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information, as well as preparing and developing reports; this includes participation in developing "lean" processes within Surgical Service.
- →Establish protocols for incoming data, creates internal databases, organizes written and computerized data, and retrieves data.
- →Coordinate and monitor Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) for credentialed providers within Surgical Service.
- →Assists leadership with daily administrative operations.
