About the Role

The Program Analyst provides support for the radiology and nuclear medicine clinics as well as the Chief Physicians, Administrative Officer, and Service Line Director of Imaging Service at the Iowa City VA Healthcare System, by analyzing and evaluating a wide range of issues relating to the setting analysis, budget analysis, program review, process analysis, developing action plans and processes to improve patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include but are not limited to: Perform cost analyses such as maintaining records of fee basing services for all community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) and the main hospital.
  • Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems and aligning or operating programs.
  • Monitor all billing and assist in ensuring accuracy.
  • Evaluate results of audits/inspections and forwards action items to supervisory or upper management within the service line.
  • Maintain all data and present reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly to supervisory and upper management within the service line pertaining to performance measures and monitors.
  • Analyze and evaluate on a qualitative and quantitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Oversee suggestion and award, quality, and/or productivity programs.
  • Oversee productivity programs in stable organizations comprised of related functions.
  • Oversee productivity programs in single mission/program organizations.
  • Analyze and summarize information for the supervisory and upper management staff, providing information on past and current processes and programs.
  • Ensure that adequate systems are set up to monitor programs and processes and adjust as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
