About the Role

The Productivity Program Analyst is a member of the Clinic Practice Management Section under the Chief of Staff located at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center with responsibilities to manage multiple data elements that contribute to productivity data for Ambulatory Care Service.

What You'll Do

  • The Productivity Program Analyst is a member of the Clinic Practice Management Section under the Chief of Staff at the James H.
  • Quillen VA Medical Center, with responsibilities for managing multiple data elements that contribute to productivity data for the Ambulatory Care Service.
  • The incumbent provides data, reports , and assistance to the ACOD/GPM, AGPM, and clinical service chiefs in their work in the development of strategic plans for the facility as it relates to access to care.
  • The incumbent measures and provides recommendations with an emphasis on improving clinical product line performance Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: The employee is responsible for determining inefficiencies in current and established practices, forming corrective action plans, and preparing draft policies for senior management consideration and implementation.
  • The employee prepares reports of program status and accomplishments for the overall productivity program.
  • The employee applies fact-finding and investigative techniques (e.g., employee/supervisor interviews, review of work procedures, instructions, records, and files) to gather clear-cut factual evidence of compliance with regulations and productivity measures.
  • The employee identifies skewed data in databases and conducts investigative interviews with physicians, managers, and other employees to identify areas of weakness and/or the source of how the data was captured and entered into the system.
  • The employee works with individual clinical providers, sub-specialty chiefs, Service Chiefs, administrative officers, Group Practice Manager's section and the Chief of Staff to create and implement action plans for reversing negative trends and ensure service-level compliance on all metrics.
  • The incumbent investigative and fact-finding process, the incumbent may be required to review standard and existing practices, work in progress or upon completion, monitor/spot check work as deemed necessary to assess the quality and quantity of work produced and, thus, make appropriate recommendations.
  • Assures that release of information requests are processed in accordance with medical center policy.
  • The employee may be required to assist in contacting clinical staff to obtain information necessary to respond to requests when not readily available in the medical record.
  • Maintain contact with clinical personnel and other staff to resolve delays and misunderstandings in all productivity management processes.
  • Oversees coordination of consultations and referrals of patients to other specialty services and manages schedules for patients for future appointments in accordance with physician clinic profiles and input from the patient(s) to ensure productivity standards are met.
  • Collaborates with Ambulatory Care section chiefs, Service Chiefs and Administrative Officers to oversee outpatient clinic access.
