The Program Analyst provides advanced administrative, analytic, and application coordination support for Surgical Service. This includes personnel administration, data analysis and reporting, and special projects assigned by the Administrative Officer and Business Manager. Responsible for data analysis and reporting using VA systems and space/equipment planning and procurement. Makes recommendations to modify procedures and practices to improve the effectiveness of Surgical Service operations.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include: Compiles data into PowerPoint presentations to be reviewed by higher level management and clinical teams.
- →Responsible for training surgical service staff in the use of analytical software applications including VSSC (VHA Support Services Center), Pyramid Analytics, Consult Management Tracker, LEAF (Light Electronic Action Framework), Power by app, Clinic Practice Management Dashboard, to ensure competency and compliance with facility standards.
- →Responsible for the overall analysis of the Surgical Service performance measures within the VA Health Care System by utilizing databases including: VSSC, VISTA, Pyramid Analytics, Consult Management Tracker, LEAF, Power by app, Clinic Practice Management Dashboard available at the local, VISN, and national levels.
- →Collects, distributes and analyzes data from the above utilized databases for Surgical Service performance measures distributing reports at least weekly to all surgical providers including attending physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, fee basis, without compensation (WOC) and residents.
- →Tracks completion of these measures reporting to leadership of providers who are not completed actions on a weekly basis, and make recommendations of eliminating, combining, simplifying or improving procedures and processes.
- →Reports may include EARRs (Encounter Action Required Report), consult management, productivity, clinic utilization, etc.
- →Monitors and analyzes the trend over a weekly, monthly, yearly, period on improvement of the measures.
- →Analyzes the data to see if the provider has made changes in the performance measures and will track this monthly and report to the Surgical Services Section Chief for reporting requirements as designated by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- →Monitors encounter reports and contacts the respective clinics for corrective actions.
- →Oversees a variety of administrative programs, including the distribution and dissemination of incoming mail, internal controls, records management, publication and forms management, and timesheets.
- →Conducts studies and evaluates the operational needs of surgical service devising specific solutions to meet those needs.
- →Engages in system improvement redesign using Lean methodology to reduce unnecessary tasks/duties that are performed on an administrative level within service and to improve performance measures.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm or as determined by supervisor.
