The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst in the Native American Direct Loan (NADL) Section of the Loan Guaranty Service. NADL is responsible for the origination and servicing of direct loans to eligible Native American Veterans, outreach to NADL customers and stakeholders, and the formulation of regulations, policies, and procedures necessary to administer the provisions of Title 38 United States Code, as amended, relating to direct housing loans to Native American veterans.
What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Participates in formulating and recommending plans and policies for nationwide application, governing loans to be made for the purchase, construction, repair, alteration, and improvement of homes or for the refinancing of existing home loans.
- →Reviews, analyzes, and determines recommendations for actions to be taken on individual cases for the decision on approval of the direct loan.
- →Processing, analysis, and closing of applications for Direct Loan for Native American Veterans or in connection with Specially Adapted Housing Grants.
- →Facilitates and leads team of Central Office and field personnel regarding policies, activities, and the establishment of related changes to the regulations and procedures, best practices, business process improvements.
- →Analyzes precedent and highly complex problems relating to direct loans and initiates appropriate correspondence or other means of affording a proper solution.
- →Advises the NADL Supervisor Loan Specialist of the need for revision of regulations, policies, and procedures.
- →Participates in outreach events by coordinating approvals of MOUs and presenting information and details on the VA NADL program to Veterans, Tribal stakeholder groups, program participants like Tribal Housing coalitions and non-profits.
- →Provides knowledge of federal housing finance, direct lending operations, mortgage industry practices, tribal relations, statutory authorities under Title 38, and related laws and regulations to resolve highly complex or unprecedented issues where little or no direct precedent exists.
- →Represents VA and NADL in meetings with representatives of other business lines within VA or other agencies to coordinate the development of new policies or procedures as appropriate.
- →Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6am and 6 pm.
