About the Role

This position is part of the Air Support Operations Squadron on Ellington Field located in Houston, TX. The primary purpose of the position is to provide management with objectively based information to effectively assess the group and squadron ability to meet the operations, training, and readiness missions in support of fielding a complex tactical communications-electronics weapons system. Texas is one of 9 states with NO state income tax.

What You'll Do

  • As a PROGRAM ANALYST (T32) with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to: Responsible for acceptance and certification of communications-electronics (C-E) systems and implementation of quality and reliability plans for assigned C-E systems.
  • Develops sampling plans and procedures for monitoring product certification decisions.
  • Independently evaluates the effectiveness of substantive unit programs and processes in meeting their established goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes evaluation results on both a quantitative and qualitative basis to provide concise and objective information to identify mission strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develops recommendations to correct deficiencies or suggest program or process improvements for the organization.
  • Plans and designs procedures to improve product and service quality.
  • Evaluates mission effectiveness.
  • Develops and administers a system of internal audits, evaluations, and checklists designed to ensure conformance with group and squadron mission.
  • Using standardized and locally developed evaluation programs and processes, responsible for planning and accomplishment of scheduled and unscheduled managerial, personnel, technical and special evaluations.
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of implemented programs and their interrelationships to apply statistical analysis techniques to measure progress, efficiency, and trends impacting the effectiveness of the organization to meet the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Performs cost-benefit and task analysis to seek more efficient and effective means and methods to achieve desired results.
  • Develops life cycle cost analyses on all organizational projected programs and systems for new and/or future missions.
  • Interprets a variety of technical requirements making independent judgments to determine organizational compliance with applicable regulations, procedures and practices.
  • Provides organization management with factual, objective assessments of the unit's ability to perform the mission.

Requirements

  • Appointment Factors: This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform.
  • Area(s) of Consideration: Nationwide Excepted.
  • This includes: All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite and temporary personnel of the Texas Air National Guard.
  • All current members of the Texas Air National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Texas Air National Guard.
  • Remarks: Trainees Accepted This position will require that the selectee participate in and complete field training requirements in accordance with AFMAN 10-3531 V1 Tactical Air Control Party Weapon System..
  • Veterans' preference is not applicable to this position.
  • Trial period required (see remarks) Direct deposit is mandatory.

  • Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements.
  • Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.
