About the Role

Employee will be assigned to the Veteran and Family Member Programs (VFMP) Directorate under Integrated Veteran Care (IVC), Lakewood, CO, serving as an operational reviewer for quality controls. Quality controls encompass processes and procedures effected by management that provide reasonable assurance that management's objectives will be achieved.

What You'll Do

  • ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Assesses operational controls for health benefits program processes to evaluate business risk, financial stewardship, and compliance.
  • Develops and executes reviews of quality controls and process effectiveness for the processes overseen by the directorate.
  • Modifies and/or enhances review procedures to align with changing programs and procedures.
  • Conducts reviews of quality controls in place for operational processes within VFMP.
  • Reviews all standard operating procedures for compliance with the applicable policies.
  • Reviews results to determine error rates and assesses overall effectiveness of quality control program.
  • Makes recommendations for remediation activity and rereviews failed controls as needed.
  • Participates in work groups that review business processes.
  • Evaluates activities and related quality controls and provides recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • Researches guidelines (e.g., regulations, work standards) and related accounting and cost information to make comparison to actual work situations and established program goals for compliance, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Serves as a continuing resource to management by studying and analyzing areas of concern revealed by examinations, audits, reviews, investigations, inspections, etc.
  • Prepares reports on results, describing scope, methodology, findings, and recommendations on all reviews to management.
  • Participates in audit, internal control and quality committee/workgroup, and various other workgroups and meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others throughout VFMP as well as externally.
