The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst (Informatics) located at the Augusta VA Health Care System, in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary purpose of the position is to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies throughout the VHA.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties and responsibilities include: Conducts market research and evaluates candidate products.
- →Performs observational studies and techniques to see how people interact with devices, products, and systems.
- →Coordinates among multiple services to ensure patient care technology is effectively and efficiently integrated into the clinical workflow Enables healthcare capabilities and the evolution of technology, to deliver quality care, by dev, implementing, and maintaining informatics Prepares electronic health records (EHR) usability, and ability to interface with other information- based systems.
- →Provides training on clinical software programs and uses creative and well-developed interpersonal skills Participates in actions to evaluate, test, and report on errors found when working with systems and applications.
- →Develops educational handouts, administers computer-based learning modules, and other vehicles.
- →Provides formal and informal in- services to facility staff on the various software packages utilized at their facility.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The work is usually sedentary, but it requires periods of walking, standing, bending, or climbing, and employees may carry light items such as books, instruments, laptops, and other similar materials.
- →The work is conducted in office, conference room, and clinical/hospital patient care settings.
- →Typically, the work is hazard-free, not requiring any special equipment or clothing.
- →The employee is in on-call status as needed and works flexible hours to meet the needs of the facility end user.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. 8:00am-4:30pm.
