About the Role

The Executive Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs (E/EX) is seeking to recruit a series of Program Analyst positions to support the Administrative Services, Human Resources, Digital Operations & Innovations, and Planning & Resources teams. These positions are critical in supporting executive leadership, maintaining continuity of operations across core functions, and providing effective administrative and operational support to client offices throughout the E Family.

What You'll Do

  • If eligible, applicants will be referred to fill vacancies across multiple functional areas based on organizational needs and candidate qualifications.
  • Artificial Intelligence/Automation: Provides technical support on SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and the Department's emerging AI platforms.
  • This position serves as a change agent for digital transformation, partnering with teams across the organization to rethink workflows, modernize business processes, and champion the adoption of new technologies.
  • Human Resources: Assists in maintaining systems that streamline HR processes, document Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency and continuity, and manage special programs from planning through execution.
  • Serves as a point of contact for HR-related communications to bureaus and offices.
  • This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and keeping cross-functional stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Contracting Officer Representative: Supports high-impact contracting activities across the E Family bureaus.
  • Develops Statements of Work and performance criteria, partnering with Global Acquisitions (GA) and E Family offices to identify acquisition needs, monitor contractor performance, resolve contract issues and provide guidance.
  • This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional with working knowledge of acquisition policies and enjoys assisting with multi-year service contracts.
  • Travel Specialist: Provides support in managing a high-volume travel program, providing expertise in federal travel regulations, travel systems, financial oversight, and program administration.
  • This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and effective travel operations while collaborating on financial oversight, budget planning, and travel systems administration.
  • At the GS-07 level, the incumbent performs essentially the same duties as outlined above; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence and receives closer supervision than at the GS-09 level.

Requirements

  • See the qualifications section of this vacancy announcement for education requirements.
  • Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
  • You must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND meet one of the following provisions of the superior academic achievement: A grade-point average of "B" (3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study.
  • A grade-point average of "B+" (3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of your undergraduate study.
  • Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision.
  • Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
  • Grade point averages should be rounded to one decimal point.
  • For example, 2.95 is rounded to 3.0, and 2.94 is rounded to 2.9.
  • NOTE: If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) was taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honor society.
  • Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
