About the Role

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Commercial Data Program with 1 vacancy in Lanham, MD or Silver Spring, MD. What You'll Do

  • This position is also announced under vacancy number NESDIS-26-13015308-DE, which is open to all US Citizens or Nationals.
  • You must apply to both announcements if you want to be considered for both.
  • As a Policy Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Work on the Commercial Data Program and serve as a senior subject matter expert on legislative, regulatory, and policy issues relevant to environmental satellites, data and information services.
  • Develop and evaluate strategies for short and long-term planning of agency environmental satellite, data and information services policy formulation and evaluation in association with organizational decision makers.
  • Serve as a senior National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) representative in stakeholder meetings and interagency policy forums and coordinate with other federal and state agencies to advance NOAA's objectives.

Requirements

  • This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
  • Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
  • The ZA-4 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.

  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.
