What You'll Do
- →Continued from Summary: The primary purpose of the position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions.
- →Duties: Performs the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions: Incumbent has full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within assigned jurisdiction.
- →Conducts Investigations/Surveillance: Conducts investigations of crimes and complaints covering a wide range of subjects and allegations that are not within the scope of Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) or the scope of the higher level detectives assigned to the Squadron.
- →Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller: Serves as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integrated Defense forces.
- →Performs emergency response and incident command and control: Acts as the initial on scene commander for significant and catastrophic events (e.g. active shooter, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters) and initiates Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS).
