About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain DOD personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Police Officer (Traffic Investigator) assigned to Directorate of Emergency Services, Police/Provost Marshall Division at Fort Bliss, Texas.
What You'll Do
- →Is the subject matter expert for traffic collision response, investigations, reconstruction and traffic management operations.
- →Take charge of accident scenes to conduct investigations directing the initial response of uniformed patrols initially on the scene.
- →Enforce the laws of the United States, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), and applicable local regulations involving persons and property.
- →Collect and preserve evidence, conducts short-term and long-term investigations on criminal cases and analyze facts to identify suspects and develops case information.
- →Operate National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal to transcribe data, the Breath Alcohol Tester (Intoxilyzer), 3D laser scanning, Crash Data Retrieval Systems and Air Pulse Traffic Data Systems to gather data.
- →Serve as Point of Contact for insurance agencies as well as civil law enforcement agencies on investigations.
