About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as a Plumber (Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC.
What You'll Do
- →As a Plumber (Motor Vehicle Operator), you will perform the following duties which is not all inclusive list: Follow written instructions to perform plumbing tasks.
- →Operate a pickup 3/4 ton truck to transport personnel, supplies and equipment to and from work sites.
- →Perform minor maintenance such as adjusting replacing and adjusting mixing valves, repacking valves, and replacing valves and basic gauges.
- →Perform testing and repair on back flow prevention devices.
- →Modify plumbing pipes to use in repairs and/or installation when necessary.
- →Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing fixtures.
