Explore a new career with the BLM - where our people are our most precious resource. This position is a Planning and Environmental Coordinator , GS- 0301-12 working in Carlsbad New Mexico for the Division of Resources.
What You'll Do
- →Leads preparation and monitoring plans to assess, improve or expand natural resources, and to alleviate or eliminate detrimental management impacts created by other resource uses upon the landscape.
- →Independently plans and carries out intensive investigations into complex natural resources concerns.
- →Participates in the preparation or review of land use plans and environmental compliance documents.
- →Implements natural resource plans by developing specific land improvement projects using highly specialized methods and techniques.
- →Evaluates the performance of proposed projects or plans on natural resources and recommends alternatives.
- →Prepares and quality checks project files to estimate materials, supplies, and work-months, as well as leading the creation of an administrative record for litigation needs.
- →Directs the collection, entering, updates, and maintenance of natural resources data according to prescribed BLM and program standards.
- →Ensures data quality and integrity by quality checking junior staff adherence to quality control standards and procedures.
