About the Role
This position is full-time located at the Richard L Roudebush VAMC within the Radiology Department. The Assistant Chief of Radiology assists the Chief of Radiology in the management and administration of the radiology service. Up to $100,000 relocation/ recruitment incentive for Non-Vascular Procedural Radiologist. Up to $75,000 for all other fellowship trained Radiologists.
What You'll Do
- →This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
- →You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
- →Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
- →Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

- →Provides direct clinical and administrative oversight for mid-level practitioners and other clinical staff as assigned.
- →Responsible for providing services in an efficient, high-quality, cost-effective manner within budget allocation.
- →Works directly with Chief, Radiology to assist in ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing and scheduling of complex procedures.
- →Participates in training and support of technical staff.
- →Works with the Chief, Radiology and other staff as appropriate, supports operations issues/problems resolution in a logical, step-wise fashion.
- →Participates in a forum in which staff identifies, communicate, and resolve issues related to Radiology Service, Medical Center ancillary and support operations, and VISN-wide mandates.
- →Works with the Chief, Radiology Service and other disciplines as necessary to support, contribute to and implement policies, procedures, performance goals, strategic plans and initiatives.
- →Seeks and enhances opportunities to promote and strengthen the Medical Center's and VISN goals.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
