This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award up to $200,000 & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do

- →Physician will serve in the Department of Medicine, within the Neurology Section, reporting to the Section Chief.
- →Work guidelines will adhere to standards established by the VA hospital and the American Academy of Neurology.
- →The provider will support the VA mission of patient care and education, and will engage in research activities as appropriate.
- →This is a full-time position involving varied levels of complexity: the provider will see outpatients, conduct inpatient consults, and perform electrophysiologic studies.
- →Responsibilities include managing both acute and non-acute neurologic cases: Physician will evaluate all disease entities that fall within their expertise related to neurological issues.
- →Physician will collaborate closely with other medical teams and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- →Physician must be capable of meeting the physical demands associated with this subspecialty.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
