About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →**This is an OPEN CONTINOUS ANNOUNCMENT and will remain open until September 25th, 2026.
- →The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be September 4th 2026, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks.
- →Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available.** VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive Primary Care to a panel of assigned patients using the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care delivery.
- →Interfaces with non-VA providers (DoD and Community) to ensure smooth transitions in care, as well as interfacing with other VA providers.
- →Contributes to achieving Performance Measure clinical outcome targets in access to care, quality of care, patient safety, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction.
- →Prescribes medications and enters consults to specialty clinics utilizing the electronic medical records system.
- →Practices in accordance with professional standards, core values and with a commitment to excellent service.
- →Completes clinical reminders for chronic disease management and prevention when due, including medication reconciliations.
- →Completes progress notes, encounters, secure messages, and view alert notifications according to VHA timeliness standards.
- →Communicates test results, particularly abnormal test results, in a timely and appropriate manner.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
