Physician - Diagnostic Radiologist

About the Role
The Samuel S Stratton Albany VA Medical Center has an opening for a full-time Diagnostic Radiologist with Neuroradiology experience to perform a large spectrum of image guided procedures and provide a broad range of care to Veterans with complex disease and comorbidities, within a patient centric model.
What You'll Do
- →The Diagnostic Radiologist is charged with delivering the best possible care to our Veterans.
- →This care must be delivered in accordance with hospital policy, meeting or exceeding national standards and VHA national benchmarks.
- →Assigned duties and responsibilities are performed throughout the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, often in a close interdisciplinary arrangement and consultation with other clinical services such as the Department of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine etc.
- →Interdisciplinary collaborative care implies active participation in interdisciplinary conferences and adherence to interdisciplinary care and treatment strategy decisions.
- →The successful candidate acts as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire medical center staff.
- →Duties include but are not limited to the following: Interact with patients to obtain relevant clinical history and physical exam findings within the scope of radiology practice, provide education to patients and support, obtain informed consent, issue disclosures when appropriate, document in CPRS, enter orders in CPRS, and other aspects of physician practice.
- →Provide clinical oversight of medication administration, including contrast, preps and other medications relevant to the Imaging Service.
- →Consults with patients over results and recommend further testing.
- →Integrate resources to provide current, optimal care: consult colleagues, research literature, maintain continuing education and other sources of current practice.
- →Support academic affiliations in technologist, radiologic assistant, medical student, resident, and other teaching programs that involve the Imaging Service.
- →Provide clinical experience, cognitive development, and other aspects of effective teaching.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
