About the Role

What You'll Do
- →The Orlando VA Healthcare System seeks a full time board certified Cardiologist to serve as the Chief of Cardiology.
- →They will be expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative inpatient and outpatient Cardiology patient care.
- →They will manage patients with ongoing Cardiology conditions, inpatient and outpatient, in collaboration with other services.
- →Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assigned administrative and clinical supervision of all Physicians and APP's within Cardiology Service.
- →Complete performance reviews for all providers within the service.
- →Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care.
- →Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care.
- →Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation.
- →Consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care.
- →Collaborate with APP's and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
