About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility(OPR), Security Operations Directorate(SOD) Security Management Division(SMD). This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first. What You'll Do

  • This position is located in the U.S.
  • Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
  • Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), Security Operations Directorate (SOD) Security Management Division (SMD).
  • You will review construction plans, inspect sites, and manage security projects to ensure compliance with federal standards and ISC criteria.
  • You advise on security requirements, conducts risk assessments, determines Federal Security Levels, evaluates countermeasures, and oversees secure area inspections and certifications for classified information.
  • This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $138,370.00 (GS-13 Step 10).

  • The major duties for this position are listed below but not limited to: Participating in construction drawing reviews, market surveys, and on-site inspections to help ensure compliance with federal standards and Interagency Security Committee (ISC) criteria.
  • Advising facility management staff on site-specific security requirements and assisting in identifying appropriate countermeasures to mitigate credible threats.
  • Supporting long-term security construction projects and helping establish baseline security requirements for government-owned, leased, or managed facilities.
