About the Role
About the Position: The incumbent serves as a dispensing pharmacy technician performing duties such as receiving and reviewing prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary. Registration as a certified pharmacy technician is preferred not required. This position is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate with prescriber or pharmacist to clarify issues or problems with dosing, interactions, or instructions.
- →Receive, review and fill physician prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.
- →Attend to he dispensing window for pick up.
- →Provide instruction to patients on proper use of medications, referring questions requiring professional knowledge and experience to the registered pharmacist.
- →Enter prescriptions into outpatient computer system reviewing profile for allergies, drug/drug or drug/food interactions, and duplicate orders.
- →Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs).
