About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standard operating procedures.
- →Enter prescriptions into outpatient computer system; reviewing profile for allergies, drug/drug or drug/food interactions, and duplicate orders.
- →Coordinate with prescriber or pharmacist to clarify issues or problems with dosing, interactions, or instructions.
- →Scan the prescriptions for the filler and checker after typing prescriptions and then fills the prescription.
- →Visually inspect dispensed medications, verify appropriate medications, and printed label affixed to the container against the original prescription for correctness.
