About the Position: The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is transitioning to the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) This position is located in Yokota Air Base Japan with the Security Management Division, PERSEC Branch Operations - Pacific Team All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Federal employees in Yokota Air Base Japan are currently entitled to receive a 10% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.
What You'll Do
- →Maintains and updates all Personnel Security systems to include, but not limited to DISS, PIPS/CVS, SWFT, DCII, PSIP, PCAS, NBIS and other systems utilized.
- →Responsible for assessing, evaluating, and reviewing background investigation documentation and information for employees to determine reciprocity, interim eligibility, acceptable risk, and Line of Sight Supervision (LOSS).
- →Applies Federal Law, DoD and agency regulations to determine the type of investigations, along with the impact of breaks in service for eligibility determinations.
- →Utilizes authorized biometric systems to capture fingerprints using both electronic and manual methods as required to support SCHR and other investigative requirements.
- →Analyze derogatory criminal history information and resolve determinations in the best interest of the Agency to promote the efficiency of service.
- →Responsible for initiating background investigations for non-cleared contractors utilizing the eApp system.
- →Assist the Insider Threat Program Manager with the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the DoWEA Insider Threat program.
- →Liaison at a departmental level on all types of personnel security matters involving personnel of supported activities.
